Individual items of legends collected by undergraduate students in USU and BYU folklore classes from 1960 to the present. Most items include informant, context, text (the folklore item), texture (stylistic notation), and collector data. Collected primarily in Utah; genre items focus primarily on the Western U.S. Topics in the legends subgroup include supernatural religious legends (divine intervention, prayers, prophecies, saints, speaking in tongues), supernatural non-religious legends (revenants, ESP, prophetic dreams, witches, shape-shifters), human condition legends, etiological legends, contemporary legends, and character legends.
